Historical Society Scholarship
The Historical Society of Amherst will award its seventh annual scholarship to a graduating Amherst senior who plans to enroll in a post-secondary school and pursue a major in history or a related field. Thanks to the success of fundraising events including the Antiques on the Green, the scholarship will be $1,000 again this year.
Application forms will be available in mid-February at www.hsanh.org, at the Amherst Town Library and at the student services office of the high school that the student attends.
Completed applications should be submitted to the high school student services offices or mailed to the Historical Society of Amherst, Attn: Scholarship Committee, PO Box 717, Amherst, NH 03031 by April 2, 2008.

Easter Parade, Egg Hunt and Scavenger Hunt
On Saturday, March 22nd, at 12:00pm on the village common there will be an Easter Parade, Egg Hunt and Scavenger Hunt!
The Parade kicks off the fun in front of the Congregational Church.
There will be crafts and snacks in the sun. A prize will be given for the best decorated bonnet and baseball cap! The smallest of children ages 0 – 8 will search for eggs. The Scavenger Hunt will be an adventure.
Older kids must use their eyes to find clues that lead to their prize!
Come meet us on the village common, March 22nd at noon! This event is sponsored byThe Amherst Junior Woman’s Club.

Lions Club 36th Annual Pancake Breakfast on Palm Sunday
AMHERST – The Lions Club will host their annual Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wilkins School in Amherst on Sunday, March 16. Breakfast tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. . The menu includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee and tea. See page XX for more information.

PMEC Presents Fireside Chats
The Peabody Mill Environmental Center in Amherst, New Hampshire is thrilled to be hosting a series of “Fireside Chats”, where we will explore diverse environmental and science topics such as Global Warming, Green Living, Survival, and Our Local Ecology. These informal talks typically include an hour long presentation and then a question and answer or discussion period. Each event is $5 per person and takes place at the PMEC unless otherwise noted.

The Peabody Mill Environmental Center, located at the end of Brook Road in Amherst, New Hampshire is an environmental and science education center that abuts almost 600 acres of Joe English conservation land.
