Laptime for Children ages 6 months - 3 years
The Daland Memorial Library is happy to offer laptime for children ages 6 - 36 months and their caregivers beginning March 6th. The group usually meets at the library the first Monday of each month. Every attempt is made to get copies of the selections through interlibrary loan. Books may also be found in paperback at local bookstores. Participants take turns researching information about the authors and bringing light refreshments to share. There are usually between eight and twelve attendees. Everyone is welcome to join in one or more discussion.
Library Director Karen MacDonald purchases a copy of each selection for the library collection. Any title may be borrowed by a library patron, though a book that’s to be discussed will be reserved for book group participants the month of the discussion.

Skenderian-McCollom-Griffin Scholarship Applications Available
The Skenderian-McCollom-Griffin Scholarship applications are now available at the Mont Vernon General Store and the Student Services office at Souhegan High School. These scholarships are awarded to Mont Vernon residents seeking full time post secondary education leading to certification, associate degree or bachelor degree. They are based on scholarship aptitude and need. They may be awarded to both high school seniors and continuing education students. Applications must be received by the Trustees of Trust Funds, Mont Vernon, prior to April 3, 2008.

Hats Off, Mont Vernon
Mont Vernon’s Annual Spring Gala Parade is set for Saturday, May 17th along Main Street. Preparations are underway as we are all thinking spring. This year’s theme salutes those who live, work, volunteer or make a difference in Mont Vernon.
