New Managers on Board in Amherst

AMHERST, NH (September 23, 2016)  - Amherst Selectmen recently filled two management level vacancies by appointing two seasoned professionals; Eric Hahn has been hired as the Assistant Director of the Department of Public Works (DPW) and Gordon Leedy was hired as the Director of Community Development. The Selectmen under took extensive screening processes to ensure Amherst was getting the best candidates for these positions.

Mr. Hahn has had a long and distinguished career with Key Span and National Grid serving most recently as Director LNG Operations, Massachusetts South. He will bring to the DPW leadership, maintenance and construction skills, personnel management and long term planning. He resides in Amherst with his wife Jennifer and serves as an on-call firefighter with the Amherst Fire Rescue Department. His proudest professional accomplishments were is involvement in restoring power following the August 14, 2003 blackout and hands-on effort to keep power on during the September 11, 2001 attacks on our country.

Mr. Leedy brings 38 years of land design and development into his new position with the town. He is an active member of the New Hampshire Planners Association and is well versed in New Hampshire law and Department of Environmental Services regulations as they apply to Amherst. As a member of the Amherst Planning Board for more than eighteen years he has volunteered his knowledge and experience for the town observing first hand growth in residential, commercial and industrial building and construction. Mr. Leedy also resides in Amherst with his wife Joanne.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Dwight Brew said,” Amherst residents are very fortunate to have these two gentlemen working for them. They are true professionals who will work tirelessly to improve services and enhance the quality of life for all of us.”
