Souhegan High School – Spring Musical

Get Enchanted with "Cinderella", March 23-25

AMHERST – Souhegan HS is proud to present Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Enchanted Edition. This is the version updated by producer Whitney Houston in 1997 and includes a few additional songs like “The Sweetest Sounds” and “Music in You” while still featuring classics such as “My Own Little Corner” and “Ten Minutes Ago.”

This is an incredibly devoted and focused groups of students, who are balancing putting together this legendary musical theater classic with all the normal demands of academics, other clubs and sports, jobs and dance/voice lessons. Choreographer Amy McGuigan and Music Director Kim Whitehead are lending their talents along with set designer Stan St. Onge and orchestra leader Carl Benevides. We are very excited to have Tyler Soucy of TS Event Productions to be providing sound support. Denise Jacobs wears multiple hats, focusing on costuming now and then turning to house management once we hit show week. Jen states, “Waiting every year to watch Lesly Ann Warren as R&H’s Cinderella is a tradition from my childhood, and it is the very first musical I ever fell in love with. Not all students were familiar with this version, and our Directing team was very excited to share their affection for it with the cast and crew. Working on the Spring Production is a labor of love for all involved, and I have loved watching this inspiring group have so much fun while learning their roles. The upper classmen have warmly welcomed our enthusiastic freshman and a few other new members of the Theater Program and bring a real sense of dedication to every rehearsal. I am so proud of them all, and I know how excited they are to perform for their friends, family and community.”

With beautiful costumes, captivating choreography and 8-part harmony, this wonderful family classic promises to bring a little magic and wonder to Souhegan’s stage. Performances are Friday March 23 and Saturday March 24 at 7pm and Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25 at 2pm. We have included an additional matinee as this is such a family-friendly production (all shows G rated!) Tickets are $8 for Students and Seniors (over 65) and $12 for adults and can be purchased with cash or checks at the Black Forest, the Homestead and Mouton’s, as well as the Welcome Center at Souhegan HS. Tickets will also be sold 75 minutes before showtime, but be forewarned- we sold out two shows last year and expect to do the same, so please plan ahead. Any questions can be directed to Jennifer and Denise at
